Hyperhidrosis/sweat gland removal

Many people suffer from excessive sweating, especially in the armpits, but also in the hands and feet. You break out in a sweat even without physical exertion, and rivulets often form in the affected regions. Men sweat through their shirts several times a day, and women cannot wear tight-fitting tops in modern colors. This leads to a significant restriction of well-being and is perceived as very annoying when dealing with other people or in professional life.

This can be treated with external medication, such as deodorants containing aluminum hydroxide, internal medication such as Sormodren® or Vagantin®, or with injections of botulinum toxin. For thoracic sympatectomy in therapy-resistant hyperhidrosis of the hands, we work together with a renowned clinic in the Berlin-Brandenburg area.

Surgical therapy is an option for treatment-resistant hyperhidrosis in the armpit area. For this purpose we use the most modern technology in our practice clinic – the sweat gland suction curettage. The sweat glands under the skin are removed with a delicate suction cannula. Local anesthesia is administered beforehand with an anesthetic solution, known as tumescent anesthesia. Access to the sweat gland area is through the smallest incisions in the skin. A pressure bandage is applied after the procedure. After a few days, you can go back to your normal professional life. The surgical procedure is an established procedure that is anchored in the guidelines of the German Dermatological Society. The private health insurance companies have included the operation in their list of services, i.e. the costs are usually borne. In the case of statutory health insurance, partial amounts are occasionally taken over as part of a case-by-case decision. We would be happy to provide you with a medical certificate to submit to your health insurance company.
