Laser skin resurfacing

A very effective therapy, especially for deeper acne scars on the face, is laser therapy, the so-called skin resurfacing. We have Erbium Yag lasers and CO2 lasers at our disposal.

The aim of the treatment is to remove the damaged upper layers of skin so that new and correspondingly smoother skin can form. At the same time, the collagen fibers are stimulated to form new ones and regenerate them. This leads to biological activation and natural rejuvenation of the skin’s supporting and connective tissue.

With our laser systems, a complete facial treatment (full face) is just as possible as partial facial modulation. The operation is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia or, in the case of pronounced changes, under general anesthesia. Depending on the type and depth of the scars, one or more treatments are required.

After the treatment, an ointment bandage is applied and antibiotic treatment is initiated. In the following two weeks, you use special medicinal creams for follow-up treatment. Any residual redness will usually have subsided after eight to ten weeks, but make-up can be applied during this time. However, during the regeneration phase of the skin (at least 3 months) you should avoid sunbathing and protect your skin from intensive sun exposure.
