Hair transplantation
A sensible solution for hair loss
With hereditary hair loss, the receding hairline, hairline and tonsure become increasingly thinner. In some cases, the top of the head even becomes completely bald. However, the insensitive hair roots of the hairline remain intact. Through intelligent redistribution, natural hair growth can be permanently restored. Modern hair transplantation makes this possible.
Hair transplantation techniques have developed rapidly in recent years. Thanks to modern microsurgical instruments and techniques, we are now able to remove our own hair roots from densely hairy areas and transplant them into bald patches. Professional autologous hair transplantation (or alternatively hair growth stimulating procedures) can effectively help the vast majority of people suffering from hair loss. Thanks to proven transplantation methods such as FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) or FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation), those affected can be given a natural and harmonious appearance again. They can go through life with much more self-confidence and newfound joy. The more positive and cheerful basic mood is transferred to their fellow human beings, at the same time increasing their social acceptance and therefore often also their career opportunities. The vast majority of people who have already had a hair transplant would have the treatment carried out again and many regret not having made the decision earlier.
The best result – i.e. if the procedure is not recognised as such – can only be achieved by a professional specialist. These are specialised doctors and their assistants who have been dealing with hair loss and its treatment options for years. We only carry out such treatments on a daily basis and guarantee aesthetic results of the highest standard. Once transplanted, hair roots produce healthy hair for life, making hair transplantation a permanent help. The convincing result: once the superficial wound healing phase is complete, the implanted hair roots produce new healthy, strong hair after just two to three months, which is retained for the rest of the patient’s life. The ‘new’ hair can be cut, washed, blow-dried, permed and coloured as normal.
You can see the results in a personal consultation and will be informed in detail about all current techniques.
Is my residual hair situation sufficient?
The existing donor hair from the crown is redistributed in such a way that an aesthetically pleasing result is achieved. It is astonishing that a good result can be achieved even with a small donor area (small crown of hair). The hair density in the donor area is analysed before the treatment to allow conclusions to be drawn about the donor potential and further treatments.
Is hair transplantation painful?
No. The treatment is carried out under local anaesthetic in the implantation and removal region.
How long does the anaesthetic last?
On average 6-8 hours.
Will I have pain after the treatment?
Every person’s perception of pain is different. In general, a slight soreness may occur during the first night in the area of the donor site. You will be given effective medication that you can take if necessary.
How long does a hair transplant take?
Je nach Umfang der zu behandelnden Fläche 2-8 Stunden.
Does it happen that transplanted hair does not grow?
No, the only requirement is a healthy scalp and healthy hair roots. In addition, your hair roots must not be damaged or even destroyed during the transplantation by the surgeon and the team. The team must have the necessary experience.
Which method is the best?
In order to achieve a natural look, microsurgical methods must be used in any case. These may differ slightly in detail, which is occasionally emphasised as ‘revolutionary’, ‘completely new’ or ‘different’ for marketing purposes. In an international scientific comparison, however, the superiority of one method over another has never been proven. It is therefore important that the surgeon masters the method he is practising. Ultimately, the best method and the latest technique can only be fully realised in the hands of an experienced hair surgeon and provide the patient with a good result.
Why are there so few specialists for hair transplantation?
In order to guarantee the patient an optimal result, a skilled and trained team must be available. Due to the time required, the surgeon may have to forego other procedures. Only a few doctors are prepared to do this.
What does an autologous hair transplant cost?
The price depends on the size of the area to be treated. Sideburns, eyebrows, small beard areas cost 1500 – 4500 euros, small to medium-sized receding hairline, hairline, larger beard areas from 4500 euros and large areas from 7000 euros. We will give you a non-binding estimate if you send us a photo of your hair situation.
Do I have to come for a follow-up treatment?
A follow-up check on the day after treatment is not necessary, as the final check takes place on the day of treatment. We will be happy to review the results after approx. 10-14 months, but will of course be at your disposal in the meantime.
